We have installed a webcam under the roof of the Chalet les Cerises to broadcast live images of the Mont Blanc massif. It is for all the lovers of Cordon that we share this camera. From a fiery sky at dawn to the pink mountains at sunset, our webcam is continuously updated. Better than a weather report, during the winter season, you can be informed of the latest snowfall and the state of the roads in Cordon.
Our webcam is located at an altitude of 950 meters, and does not reflect the snow conditions of the Cordon ski area located at a higher altitude. You will find here a link to the webcams located at the foot of the ski slopes of Cordon.
Chalet Les Cerises is located at "Les Miaz", which is considered by the locals to be one of the best views in Cordon. By connecting to the webcam of the chalet les Cerises, you will be able to enjoy one of the most beautiful daily shows offered by Mother Nature.

In the chalet, we have a long viewpoint for you to look at the magnificent high mountain landscapes. You will soon recognise the Goûter refuge, situated at an altitude of 3835 metres, which is the last stage before the ascent of Mont-Blanc. At dawn, from Cordon, you will sometimes see the glow of the headlamps used by mountaineers when leaving the snowy mountain refuges.
Just as easily, you can locate the Montenvers railway line above the Chamonix valley. This picturesque red train takes you to the Mer de Glace, the largest glacier in the Alps. You can also take the Mont Blanc tramway from Saint-Gervais to the Bellevue plateau. Pedestrians and skiers alike will appreciate this alternative to the ski lifts to contemplate the magnificent mountain scenery.

... And the Aiguille du Midi
To the left of the roof of Europe, the silhouette of the Aiguille de Chamonix can be seen. The mythical Aiguille du Midi and its vertiginous cable car are particularly recognisable from the Chalet les Cerises. It only takes 20 minutes to reach the high mountain.
You will be able to contemplate 360 degrees, glaciers and summits of the Alps, without practising alpinism. In winter, it is the starting point of the Vallée Blanche, which allows you to ski to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the powder snow. Nearby, you can access the equally mythical Grands Montets ski area. Situated between 1235 metres and 2800 metres, it offers you the highest vertical drops in the world, close to the Savoyard glaciers.

From the chalet, a breathtaking view of several ski resorts
of the Northern French Alps
From the balcony of Chalet Les Cerises you can look out over several ski areas that are only a few minutes away by car. Below the Mont Blanc is the ski area of Les Houches. A very wide piste cuts through the spruce forest in front of you. Further to the right, below Mont-Joly, the ski slopes of Combloux / Megève.
The ski lifts of the small ski resort of Cordon, and the Combloux detachable chairlift (on the ridge) are visible from the balcony.
Even better than a webcam... The long view of the chalet les Cerises is equipped with a Nikon lens allowing a magnification between x20 and x60.

Located in the centre of the village, the Cordon Tourist Office welcomes you from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays in season.
You will also find valuable information for your ski holidays, such as the opening of the slopes, the weather forecast for the next few days, the snow report and where to find your ski passes and equipment. Get the Cordon piste map; it is an ideal area to learn to ski, you will find only green and blue pistes. On the heights, some more technical red runs await you, but no black runs. You can even book a dog sled ride, ESF downhill skiing or snowboarding lessons, as well as a snowshoeing trip during your winter sports.
In summer, you can get a map of the hiking trails. There are superb walks in Cordon, between the mountain pastures and the traditional chalets towards the heights of this side of the Aravis. You could also venture a little further into the Arve valley and walk around the lakes of the Aiguilles Rouges massif, for example. With a bit of luck, you will see some wild animals such as badgers, marmots or chamois. This is also the home of alpine birds of prey such as eagles and buzzards.
